When the client approached Mpowering Solutions, the website hadn't been updated since 2018, and was in need of a refresh. But with limited time and resources, it was continuously deprioritised, as running the business was the #1 priority--which is completely understandable, and very common with small businesses.

We used the existing content, as it contained extensive technical information, but carried out an extensive overhaul of the website, from front-end design such as banners, layouts and images, to back-end input such as text hierarchy, alt texts and URL renaming, all of which resulted in a fresh and modern aesthetic that is fully search engine optimised.

The Updates
A lot of changes were made, but here are some of the key updates we implemented.

Move key information to Above the Fold
We moved the About Us section from the bottom of the homepage to the top. By moving the company's introduction to above the fold, this ensures this is the first thing visitors see when they land on the homepage.
We also divided the original 3 paragraphs into sections that are easy to digest: the top banner for immediate impact, followed by the grid below with images and punchy taglines to communicate the message clearly and quickly.

Overhaul SRC's Structural Solutions page
One of SRC's many achievements is the creation of an integrated solution to allow different leading software to speak to and work with each other. However, on the old webpage, the details of the complex goals and revolutionary solution were at the bottom of the page, meaning it could be missed by the casual visitor.
We highlighted the goal and solution at the top of the page in a dynamic and bold way, to clearly and immediately show visitors who are interested in SRC's structural solution just why SRC is the best in Hong Kong and Macau.

Tidy up CSi solutions page
Computers & Structures, Inc. (CSi) is one of the world-leading structural software, with a wide range of programmes that are used by engineers all over the world. Therefore, it is only right to ensure clients can learn as much about the differences between the programmes as possible.
We decluttered the information page (not unlike a PDP), and segmented CSi's profile into different sections. Rather than a grid of software cover images, we implemented an interactive banner to engage the user to find out more about each CSi solution.

Thorough update of SEO settings
We tidied up the backend of the website to ensure every page is search engine optimised, utilising key word research with substantial search volume where relevant.
Changed URL slug to relevant name
Updated meta title to be relevant to page content
Added meta description to help search engine, using relevant key words where appropriate

We kept what matters
On the Contact Us page, we moved the elements around, so the page is split into 2 columns rather than 3 so the page is not as cramped, and that the office location and the Google Maps insert are on the same side.
In addition, the client expressed how much he likes the moving background on the original Contact page, so we ensured we kept the video background. What matters to the client, matters to us.
